The Zambezi is open!
We are nearly month into our 2021 season and it feels great to have guests again! Yes the usual “behind the scenes” hassles of broken boat trailers, temperamental water pumps and long nights getting camp ready are too but it’s wonderful to see the ali boats heading out each morning armed with fishermen and very well stocked coolboxes!

Flights, road transfers and COVID tests
Our guests have been flying in and out of Kasane Airport with Airlink and the transfer to the lodge with a valid passport and negative PCR test no older than 72 hours is working very smoothly. As the Livingstone flights with Airlink start again at the end of the month, no doubt this will work smoothly too although the road from Livingstone does make the transfer longer!
Likewise on the journey home, there are no issues with the negative PCR test from Zambia to get back so all in all, we are pleased to see the system working.

Feedback from the Kwando River:
Our Kwamashi trips have produced mixed results. Group 1 had hard fishing from what seems to have been affected by the frontal pressure system because a few days into Group 2, fishing improved and some nice fish were taken spinning with copper effzetts.
If you are thinking of your Zambezi trip in 2021, let us know! It’s very much open and spaces are filling up quickly…let’s get you back on the water in 2021!
