At Mutemwa Lodge, where you will be stationed for the duration of the Upper Zambezi Fishing Safari encompasses everything that makes the Zambezi River magical. This includes quality tiger fishing on a remote and private piece of the Zambezi, wonderful bird life, stunning sunsets, a roaring fire at night all complimented by superb hospitality and great food. Accommodation is in permanent tents with the expanse of the Upper Zambezi below the decks. The sound of hippo, monkeys, birds and feeding fish surround you as you awake to the sun rising over the Zambezi River.
The Fishing: What you need know about the Upper Zambezi
Remote, private Upper Zambezi water with numerous islands, rapids, deep channels and flooded structure to fish, this stretch of the river is probably best fished in March, April, August, September, November and December. The primary means of fishing here is with lures and spinners and tigers up to 18lbs have been caught. The beauty of this section of the Zambezi is that the distance from Livingstone means the water is private and shared with only one other little campsite so you guaranteed to have the water to yourself. Day trips and overnight combinations with the Sioma Falls really adds variety to the fishing here and all fishing is 2 per boat on superb, large ali boats.
